Paapa Essiedu and Charly Clive in The Lazarus Project

The first season of The Lazarus Project introduced us to an organization called Lazarus that tries to change the future (and get out of a time loop) no matter what the personal costs. That season also saw a man named George (Paapa Essideu) go against that directive to save the love of his life, Sarah (Charly Clive).

We’ve got a new trailer for the second season of the show, and it sees Sarah not only alive, but now part of the same organization. They’re all stuck in a three-week time loop now, where the world is repeatedly destroyed no matter what they do. To combat that, they have to build—and use—a time machine to take them back to before the loop starts.

Here’s the timey wimey synopsis for the second season:

In this thrilling second season of the BAFTA-winning drama, the world has locked into a deadly time loop and the Lazarus team must race against time to save humanity. Among their number is resolute Lazarus agent, George, who’s been left in disgrace after betraying the organization in the name of love. George is determined to redeem himself and win back the trust of his friends, colleagues, and the love of his life. But when he discovers that the cause he is fighting for is more sinister than it appears, George suspects that the only person he can really trust is himself.

Intriguing! In addition to Essiedu and Clive, the show stars Anjli Mohindra, Tom Burke, Caroline Quentin, and Rudi Dharmalingam. The second season of The Lazarus Project premieres on TNT on June 9, 2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
